The Leah Simone Scholarship foundation is in direct collaboration with PAPAS (Pick a Place and Start) Community Development Corporation. This scholarship supports the educational advancement of students everywhere. The winner of the scholarship will receive $500 dollars, second winner 250 dollars, and third one hundred dollars. As the years progress we will be able to award more. It is our desire to eventually fund a full tuition scholarship. To be awarded this scholarship you must fill out the application along with your essay submission. As an applicant, you can answer the essay question in the form of writing, art, or any other means of presentation you desire. Applications are due by March 1, 2018 and awards will be presented on April 8, 2018. Please see the application for additional information.

Someone believed in a student like me before I even started kindergarten. This person believed in education and was aware of its costs. Blessed, I have never had to come out of my pocket for college- not one cent. This is because someone had a passion for a student like me and put it into motion. They did what was necessary, and went all in. They gave their heart, soul, strength, and mind to not only God but their neighbor. I would be remissed if I did not push this forward.
I want to provide scholarships for three students out of my personal funds. I am blessed enough to be a blessing! Whether it is assistance with textbooks, supplies, or even bills; I want to be a distributor of love. I pray to accomplish this with simple hopes that they will go all in and love the same for their neighbor. I want to encourage someone to be that Good Samaritan and put another above themselves. God has lifted us all, let us continue to help each other. Your neighbor is ANYONE in need, and that is the one you love with all your heart, mind, and soul. The Scripture says, “when it goes well for the righteous the city rejoices, and when the wicked rule the people mourn” (Proverbs 29:2) Let us dry those eyes and start looking at who our neighbor is!
When you donate to P.A.P.A.S., you help to end the cycle of misfortune and open a window of opportunities for our community to succeed.
