Pick a Place and Start (P.A.P.A.S.) is a Community Development Corporation focused on revitalizing the Flint and Genesee County Community. We believe our City can thrive if we all simply, Pick a Place and Start, through our collaborative volunteer and donor supported efforts.
P.A.P.A.S. is dedicated to youth development and the cultural and economic revitalization of the City of Flint and Genesee County. We work with our neighbors to celebrate the life and art of our community, an area traditionally defined solely in terms of its poverty, crime rate, poor schools and substandard living. We believe the area’s residents, their talents and aspirations, are the city’s greatest assets and through P.A.P.A.S’s initiatives we intend to showcase this community to the world. P.A.P.A.S. offers a multi-faceted approach to asset-based community development. Its programming falls within three main headings: Youth Development, Arts, Culture and Community Development all aimed at the comprehensive revitalization of Flint, Michigan.
Through our volunteer and donor supported efforts we are addressing:
At a time when the Flint community is facing declining investment and tarnished morale, we at P.A.P.A.S. are responding to a community in crisis. Our organization will work with local residents to strengthen and
renovate this community by bolstering community members' endeavors through arts, environmental and business oriented services while contributing to the area's resurgence in arts, education and culture.
